After being married for 10 years, the divorce of celebrity Tom Arnold and his wife, Ashley Groussman has been finalized. The couple, whose California home sold for $3.8 million, share two children — a son, 7 and a daughter, 4. The couple have joint custody of the kids.

Arnold, who was most well-known for his marriage to Roseann Barr from 1990 to1994, said the divorce was the right thing since he and his now former wife had been drifting apart for the last couple years. He thanked Groussman for making him a father and said they are working with a co-parenting therapist to ensure they raise their children in a healthy and cooperative way. Net proceeds of the sale of the home went to Arnold who will be paying Groussman $4,383 a month in spousal support until he reaches the age of 65 and child support until the children turn 18.

The actor/producer will also be paying his former wife 50% of the net income from 12 intellectual properties created during the couple’s marriage, including episodes of NCIS and Trailer Park Boys. Court papers cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. The couple married in 2009 after being introduced by mutual friends.

Divorce is never easy for any couple and the process can be even more stressful when issues regarding children have to be sorted out. A California attorney can help a client resolve issues surrounding the important aspects of a divorce such as child custody, child support and spousal support, to name a few. Many divorces cases can be settled without litigation and a lawyer can explain the processes that may help.
