Katherine Lent Rotmil is an associate in the firm’s Family Law Department. Ms. Rotmil handles an array of complex matters related to the dissolution of marriage, including high-asset property characterization and division, child and spousal support, premarital and postnuptial agreements, property transmutation issues, support, custody, visitation, paternity matters, relocation matters, and post-judgment modifications. She is a member of the State Bar of California and is also licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Michigan.
Ms. Rotmil graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law in May of 2015 with a certificate in Family Law. While in law school, Ms. Rotmil was the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Law and the Public Interest (now known as the Public Interest Law Review). She received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Ethics and Family Law and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Ms. Rotmil externed for the chief judge of the Domestic Relations Division of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Rotmil earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan where she double majored in History and Political Science and was awarded University Honors.
Prior to joining Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP as an associate, Ms. Rotmil exclusively practiced family law in Chicago for five years, representing clients in complex and high asset marital property issues, custody and visitation in litigation, mediation and the collaborative process. During this time, Ms. Rotmil was selected by her peers as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2020. Ms. Rotmil is originally from the Midwest and enjoys hiking, baking and spending time with her young daughter, husband and their two Westies.
