Carlo L. Miranda

Senior Associate

Carlo L. Miranda is a Certified Family Law Specialist (certified by the CA State Bar Board of Legal Specialization) and a Senior Associate at Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP. Mr. Miranda combines his passion for the law with an extensive litigation background to handle a variety of complex family law issues including high asset divorces, move away contests, interstate and international jurisdictional disputes, child and spousal support calculations, and property valuation and division.

Mr. Miranda is a member of the State Bar of California, as well as the San Mateo County and Santa Clara County Bar Associations. In 2019, he was recognized as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star in Northern California, a recognition that he has received each year since. Super Lawyers® evaluates attorneys based on twelve factors including peer recognition, professional achievements, and community service. They award the Rising Star recognition to the top 2.5% of attorneys under 40 or in practice for less than 10 years.

Prior to joining Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP as an associate, Mr. Miranda worked for a boutique family law firm, assisting clients with high-conflict custody and visitation matters, support issues, and domestic violence restraining orders. Before transitioning solely to family law, Mr. Miranda founded his own law firm in San Jose, focusing on a wide array of criminal and family law matters. Early in his legal career, Mr. Miranda also worked alongside a Certified Criminal Law Specialist in two high-volume criminal trials including one of the longest homicide trials in Santa Clara County history. Mr. Miranda was also contracted to prepare an opening appellate brief before the 4th District Court of Appeal. While in law school, Mr. Miranda clerked for a prominent asbestos litigation firm where he developed a strong foundation in litigation.

Mr. Miranda received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2010. While in law school, Mr. Miranda received the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing for two consecutive semesters. He also won the Best Brief Award for the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, which featured competitors from law schools across the state. He also served as a Comments Editor for the USF Law Review and assisted first-year law students with oral and written advocacy as a Moot Court Case Counsel. Mr. Miranda was also President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), which was the largest student organization on campus.

Mr. Miranda earned his B.A in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley with honors. In his free time, Mr. Miranda enjoys cooking, training in mixed martial arts, and spending time with family and friends.
