David C. Erb is a Partner and Certified Family Law Specialist in the firm's
Family Law Department, handling a wide range of issues, including: dissolution,
property characterization and division, child custody and visitation,
child and spousal support, and complex, high-asset matters. He is a member
of the State Bar of California, as well as the Contra Costa County Bar
Association, Alameda County Bar Association, San Mateo County Bar Association
and Santa Clara County Bar Association.
In 2017, Mr. Erb was named to the Super Lawyers’ 2017 Northern California
Rising Stars List.
Mr. Erb was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Family Law
Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association for the years 2014
- 2018. In 2017, Mr. Erb was elected to serve as the section President.
In 2018, Mr. Erb was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the
entire Contra Costa County Bar Association.
Mr. Erb is admitted to practice in all California state courts, the United
States District Court, Northern District of California and the United
States Court of Appeals, Ninth District.
Mr. Erb received his Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School
of Law in May 2010. While in school, he worked in the Private Equity Group
at Silicon Valley Bank. At SVB he was a part of the Entrepreneur Services
and Venture Capital Relationship Management Groups and helped with diligence
and cross platform relationship efforts.
Before entering the legal field, Mr. Erb spent several years as a business
valuation analyst, most recently at Burr, Pilger, Mayer, Inc. At BPM,
Mr. Erb prepared valuations for compliance, litigation and strategic purposes.
His client base consisted of private and public companies across several
industries, with a primary focus on technology companies.
Prior to joining Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP, Mr. Erb founded
his own law firm in Walnut Creek, California, handling a variety of business,
real estate and family law matters. During this period, Mr. Erb was a
volunteer attorney with Bay Area Legal Aid, where he represented victims
of domestic violence in contentious family law cases. He successfully
advocated for clients in numerous hearings and trials before judicial
officers in Contra Costa and Alameda County.
Mr. Erb earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce (Finance) from Santa
Clara University in 2007. While attending Santa Clara University, Mr.
Erb was actively involved in his business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi,
and his wealth management internship at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (formerly
