Megan C. Berman is an associate in the firm’s Family Law Department,
skilled in all areas of family law, including high-asset property characterization
and division, child and spousal support, date of separation issues, reimbursement
claims, child custody and visitation, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements,
post-judgment issues, and other complex litigation issues. Prior to family
law, Ms. Berman practiced in complex civil litigation for several years,
giving her a diverse background that lends itself to creative and flexible
legal solutions for her clients. She is a member of the State Bar of California,
as well as the San Mateo County Bar Association and Santa Clara County
Bar Association, and practices in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Alameda Counties.
Ms. Berman received her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School,
where she was Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Colleges and Universities.
She has a B.A. from Dartmouth College, with a focus on comparative government.
Ms. Berman has a strong history of commitment to pro bono and volunteer
efforts, and has litigated immigration, criminal, and family law cases
on a pro bono basis for victims of domestic violence and indigent clients.
Originally hailing from the Midwest, Ms. Berman enjoys exploring the Bay
Area in her free time, and her interests include podcasts, traveling,
and chasing her niece and nephews.
